It’s a good sign when a restaurant’s menu creates mild decision-time anxiety because there are so many dishes that you really want to try. This was the dilemma at Célestin Café (623 Mt. Pleasant Rd, south of Eglinton), a lovely upscale French bistro that serves brunch from Wednesday to Sunday (and dinner from Tuesday to Saturday).

I settled on the Butternut Squash-Goat Cheese Ravioli with side salad ($13.95). The ravioli wrappers were exceptionally light and delicate, dressed in a sundried tomato pesto along with shallots, whole pine nuts, olive pieces and shavings of parmesan.

Our table ordered five different mains and every dish was thorougly enjoyed. Standouts included the Ravioli, Dungeness Crab Soup, Hunter’s Pie (shredded duck, leeks and mushrooms) and the shallot-smothered Steak with Frites.
