The best place to hang in Toronto during the summer is at Harboufront. And the best thing about Harboufront is the Grilled Corn at the One Love Corn stall. There is no greater happiness than biting into the juicy kernels that burst with flavours of lemon, lime, butter and their secret spice blend that has just the right amount of kick.
Jamaican-born owner Ras Iville Wright prepares your corn with what we can only describe as love. It goes for $3 per cob. They also serve a delicious Corn Soup at the stall, which is vegan to fit with Ras’ Rastafarian diet. If you’d like to make it at home, here’s the Corn Soup recipe.
This is the ninth straight summer One Love Corn has been in the same spot near the Toronto Star stage. The line-up can range from five to 30 minutes, but it’s worth the wait because the staff are always extremely warm and friendly.

This year they’ve fulfilled their lifelong dream by opening up a permanent restaurant, One Love Vegetarian (854 Bathurst St., one block north of Bloor). Look for a review coming soon. One Love!
